Diagnostic Kits

One of the innovations made in the field of diagnosis of Tuberculosis is the development of the Stop TB Diagnostic Kits. Based upon international recommendations and extensive field studies the equipment and supplies required for diagnosis by the Ziehl-Neelsen method have been divided into different types of kits.

CONSUMABLE KIT

Contains laboratory consumables sufficient to prepare 1000 sputum smears, which includes amongst others ready-to-use Ziehl-Neelsen stains (carbol fuchsin, acid alcohol, methylene blue), methylated spirit, lysol, immersion oil, gloves, microscope slides, filter paper and markers.
This Kit is delivered with instruction booklets and material data safety sheets (MSDS).

*This kit is packed in UN approved boxes and is acceptable to be carried Passenger Aircraft (PAX ok)

EQUIPMENT KIT

Contains minor laboratory equipment for use with the Consumables Kit, such as an alcohol lamp, wire loop and holder, drying rack, forceps, slide storage boxes, wash bottles, filter funnels (3 sizes), borosilicate beaker, adjustable staining rack, diamond writer, timer and instruction booklets.

MICROSCOPE KIT

Contains a microscope (OLYMPUS CX21) including all necessary spare parts and all accessories to operate the microscope even in the most remote areas. This microscope is supplied a.o. with strong wooden storage case, external illumination lamp to replace natural sun-light, 12v battery unit, battery charger, mirror unit, surge protector and spare bulbs.

SPUTUM CUPS

Sputum collection cups with screw cap, leak proof, single use, combustible material, translucent with an easy to label wall panel. The sputum cups have a volume of 40ml.
