Stop TB
Patient Kit


The Stop TB Patient Kit has been developed to support the DOTS-strategy, initiating the following objectives:
  1. Simplifying the treatment of TB patients
  2. Monitoring the TB patient during treatment
  3. Ensuring the availability of anti TB-drugs to complete the treatment

CATEGORY I & III

The Stop TB Patient Kit for category I and III patients contains anti-TB drugs sufficient for the complete treatment of one category I or III TB patient.



Each kit contains:
  • 4 FDC (Rifampicin 150mg/ Isoniazid 75mg/ Pyrazinamide 400mg/ Ethambutol 275mg) tablets for treatment during the two months intensive phase.

For the TB the continuation phase several options are available:

  • Rifampicin 150mg/75mg tablets for daily treatment for a period of six months
  • Rifampicin 150mg/Isoniazid 150mg tablets for intermittent treatment for a period of four months
  • Ethambutol 400mg/Isoniazid 150mg tablets for daily treatment for a period of six months    

CATEGORY II

The Stop TB Patient Kit for category II Patients contains anti-TB drugs and medical supplies sufficient for the complete treatment of one category II TB patient.



Each Kit contains:
  • 4 FDC (Rifampicin 150mg/Isoniazid 75mg/Pyrazinamide 400mg/Ethambutol 275mg) tablets for daily treatment during the three months intensive phase
  • Syringes (5ml) with detachable needle (Becton and Dickinson)
  • Needle hub cutter (Becton and Dickinson)
  • Streptomycin for injection 1g vial
  • Water for injection 5ml ampoule
For the TB continuation phase several options are available, such as:
  • 3 FDC (Rifampicin 150mg/Isoniazid 75mg/Ethambutol 275mg) tablets for daily treatment for a period of five months
  • Rifampicin 150mg/Isoniazid 75mg tablets and Ethambutol 400mg tablets for daily treatment for a period of five months
  • Rifampicin 150mg/Isoniazid 150mg and Ethambutol 400mg tablets for intermittent treatment for a period of five months
*An auto destruct syringe with an automatic disabling feature has been developed by Becton Dickinson. This syringe can be supplied as a part of the Stop TB patient kit for category II patients.
