One of the innovations made in the field of diagnosis of Tuberculosis is the development of Stop TB Diagnostic Kits. Based upon international recommendations the equipment and supplies required for diagnosis by the Ziehl-Neelsen method have been divided into the following kits:

Consumables Kit: Contains laboratory consumables suffiecient to prepare and stain 1000 sputum smears, which includes amongst others ready-to-use Ziehl-Neelsen stains, microscope slides, filter paper and acid alcohol.

Equipment Starter Kit: Contains minor laboratory equipment for use with the Consumables Kit, such as an alcohol lamp, wire loop and holder, drying rack, staining rack, diamond writer, timer, instruction booklets and a wall chart for the Ziehl-Neelsen staining procedure.

Micropscope Kit: Contains a microscope complete with all necessary spare parts and accessories.
