Stop TB Patient Kit Category II
The stop TB Patient Kit have been developed to support the DOTS-strategy, initiating the following objectives:
  • Simplifying the treatment of TB patients
  • Controlling the TB patient during treatment
  • Ensuring the availability of anti TB-drugs during the complete treatment of a TB patient

The stop TB Patient Kit for Category II Patients contains anti-TB drugs and medical supplies sufficient for the full treatment of one category II TB patient. Each kit contains Rifampicin 150mg/Isoniazid 75mg/Pyrazinamide 400mg/Ethambutol 275mg tablets for daily treatment during three months intensive phase. For the five months daily treatment during the continuation phase the kit includes Rifampicin 150mg/Isoniazid 75mg/Ethambutol 275mg tablets, or Rifampicin 150mg/Isoniazid 75mg tablets and Ethambutol 400mg tablets. The stop TB Patient Kit can be supplied complete with syringes and needles, needle hub cutter and alcohol swabs. For treatment with Streptomycin an auto destruct syringe with an automatic disabling feature has been developed by Becton Dickinson. This syringe can be supplied as a part of the Stop TB patient kit for category II patients.
